ARTIST STATEMENT AND CV

 

Sally is a Multimedia Artist and lives in Cricklewood, North West London. She graduated from Byam Shaw at Central St Martins in 2007.  Her work combines conceptual principles with meticulous craft and a dash of wit to make installations, sculptures and land art. Working in whatever media suits the project her artworks reflects a deep respect and commitment to the finished piece. Site-specific projects mirror intuitive responses to the unique atmosphere of individual spaces. Her interests include Jungian thought, Art and Awareness, "The Conscious Creation", The Environment, Neuro-psychology, Cosmology and Art as Medicine.

Land Art and other briefs:

October 2008 – on going, The British Isles, low relief sculpture, reclaimed roof tiles installation 5m x 4m on grass, time-lapse camera documentation.

October 2010 – February 2013 Cut 1, Gladstone Park Meadow, 27m x 37m cut grass relief installation created and maintained with a domestic lawn mower.

October 2012, - Brent Fairtrade commemorative plaque, Hazel Road Open Space, Kensal Rise, Harrow Road, this is a 1.85 metre diameter installation of 1200 recycled bottle tops (collected over 9 years) embedded in 120kg of resin.

Arabian Nights large embroidery poster facsimile for the 2012 Christmas production of The Arabian Nights at the Tricycle Theatre, Kilburn.

On 2nd and 3rd October 2013 the parent installation “Stitched Offices” was removed as 6 sections of partition wall from Electric House before the building was handed over to contractors for demolition; this entire work has undergone restoration and conservation and is now awaiting reinstallation in its entirety.
