ARTIST STATEMENT

 

A sculptor concerned primarily with contradiction and ambivalence Rachael plays with mass and memory to fracture and solidify — or not — something. Aiming to make the notion of process tangible, in direct relationship to life cycles, choice and manipulation of materials are central to the work; the contribution of their historical and physical components inform the form.

 

Educated at Leeds Metropolitan University, L’école Nationale Supérieure du Paysage, Versaille, France and L'Ateliers Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris she is now working between Kent and Paris.
